EMBODIMENT THROUGH STORY

A WEEK OF MOVEMENT AND STORY

join us for a week long somatic movement and storywork retreat in panama!

an invitation to explore the power of your story and the wisdom of your body

OUR EMBODIED APPROACH

We all encounter trauma in our lives, often stemming from the narratives we formed during our childhood and youth to feel safe. When faced with traumatic events or stressful situations, we can become trapped in our body's natural stress response cycle.

These harmful narratives have shaped who you are and how you interact with the world, often leaving you feeling stuck in cycles of shame and grief, unable to move freely or see clearly.

At our Retreat, we will integrate Storywork along with Somatic Movement for a holistic, embodied approach to healing.

Our bodies have stories to tell. Through listening to our breath, sensations, emotions, and non-conscious movements, we can become more attuned to our good bodies. This attunement allows us to grow in our ability to sit with others in their stories and bodies, fostering deeper connection and mutual healing.

Jenny has been facilitating trauma focused narrative groups for the last decade, believing that each person's body is the wisest thing about them.

MORE ABOUT JENNY - yoga/movement

Kim has invited Jenny to co-host this event because of their shared commitment to healing through Storywork and Somatic Movement. Kim is excited about this collaboration because she believes that it will add so much more depth and expansiveness to each individual's overall healing experience.

Jenny will be offering somatically informed narrative engagement  throughout the week as well as teaching and yoga/movement.

The power of telling our stories and hearing other's stories is wildly transformative, but even more so when we are moving and breathing together.

In your time with Jenny, you will be invited to find freer, fuller ways of moving to your own unique rhythm.

What makes this retreat different?

This retreat is a unique opportunity to delve into the depths of your healing process in a safe and nurturing environment. The integration of somatic bodywork and storywork is a powerful approach that recognizes the interconnection of our physical and emotional experiences. As we explore spaces of trauma, it's essential to honor the body's messages and the stories they tell.

The Retreat Location

PANAMA

It far exceeded what I anticipated and would absolutely engage again because just writing down the story and slowly processing the moments alone was a huge thing but to say it out loud was a challenge but good practice to have a voice to get it out.

This schedule is subject to change

facing our own depth and darkness can be scary.

When we cultivate inner safety -- that inner trust -- that inner knowing -- we learn how to be with our inner depth. We learn how to look at our darkness and see it not as something to rid ourselves of or feel bad about, but something to soothe.

Something to nourish and care for. Something to honor, learn from, and hold as sacred.

Something that inherently turns into growth, movement, and rebirth.

Something we can welcome as part of us.
